Windows-phone-news.com - Qatar 2022 World Cup has started. The world's biggest soccer party takes place from November 20 to December 18 2022. Football fans are looking forward to this football tournament every four years, who can't wait to witness the actions of world players. However, it is a shame that several teams with great players will not appear at the Qatar World Cup this year.

The stars of the field have not featured in this World Cup either because their country did not qualify or because of injury.

In the following, 10 great footballers who were absent at the 2022 World Cup in Qatar are quoted from the Olympics page, Tuesday (22/10/2022).

1. Erling Haaland (Norway)

Erling Haaland is a young Premier League player who is a striker for Manchester City will not feature at the 2022 World Cup. Haaland is absent because his country Norway did not qualify for the World Cup.

2. Zlatan Ibrahimovic (Sweden)

Zlatan Ibrahimovic, who is 41 years old, the great player from Sweden, will not be able to channel his talent on the pitch. Sweden lost to Robert Lewandowski's Poland in a play-off and cost us a third World Cup appearance to the great Swede.

3. Sergio Ramos (Spain)

Spanish centre-back Sergio Ramos has impressed for PSG this season. This has led many to believe that the 36-year-old will be recalled to Luis Enrique's squad. Unfortunately, that proved not to be the case. The 2010 World Cup winner and two-time European Champion with Spain also won four Champions League titles with former club Real Madrid.

4. Mohamed Salah (Egypt)

Mohamed Salah will not be playing in Qatar 2022. It is very unfortunate for the Egyptian squad and Liverpool fans as his country was knocked out in a penalty shootout in the play-off against Senegal. What hurt even more for Salah fans was the fact that Mo missed a penalty in the penalty shoot-out that decided the game. Meanwhile his former Liverpool team-mate Sadio Mane scored to send Senegal to Qatar. The end result is Senegal are on their way to the Cup in Group A.

5. Luis Diaz (Colombia)

Colombia is absent from the 2022 World Cup. Star players such as Radamel Falcao, James Rodriguez, Juan Cuadrado and rising superstar Luis Diaz will not feature in the World Cup matches. Colombia failed to progress from CONMEBOL's notoriously difficult qualifying group after too many draws, scoring just 20 goals in 18 games.

While Brazil collected 40 goals. Even so, Luis Diaz is still relatively young at the age of 25 years. Colombian fans hope Diaz can lead them to the next event, which will be held closer to their homes in Canada, Mexico and the United States.

6. Victor Osimhen (Nigeria)

(Tiziana FABI / AFP) Things are looking so good for Napoli striker Victor Osimhen, who is on the rise after he scored four goals in the group stage of AFCON qualifiers for Nigeria.

But everything unraveled in the third stage when the national team nicknamed the Super Eagles failed to score against Ghana in Kumasi. The Nigeria national team then drew 1-1 at home in Abuja. It was a failure that Osimhen deeply felt. He apologized to fans saying:

"We have to first apologize to the Nigerian people.A lot of people are still supporting us, but what we need to do is try to get all our supporters back at 100 per cent. We are on the right path, doing things well with the new coach [ Peseiro] and the technical staff. But everyone is sad, nobody is happy even now the pain remains and it will be like that forever," said Victor.

7. Martin Odegaard (Norway)

Martin Odegaard, the Norwegian Wonderkid, was brought to Real Madrid when he was only 16 years old. Now he is an Arsenal player and is one of the reasons Arsenal are at the top of the Premier League. He will not attend the same as Haaland because his country did not qualify in the qualifiers.

8. Eldor Shomurodov (Uzbekistan)

The Central Asian region doesn't usually get much attention on the football field, but 'Shomo' as they call Eldor Shomurodov is a quality player who is sure to bring something to the World Cup stage.

Unfortunately, Uzbekistan never qualified for the World Cup despite coming close on several occasions, they are behind Saudi Arabia in second place in the AFC group.

9. Riyad Mahrez (Algeria)

Riyad Mahrez, also failing to qualify for Qatar, the 31-year-old winger has impressed in the Premier League during Leicester's finest moments and now at Manchester City.

Mahrez could not compete in the World Cup because Algeria did not qualify. This is because Algeria lost 2-1 to North Africa in the second leg of the match in Blida, Algeria.

10. Gianluigi Donnarumma (Italy)

Last but not least, the Italian goalkeeper, Gianluigi Donnaruma. He was unable to display his talent at the 2022 World Cup. The young Italian team coached by Roberto Mancini will not experience the World Cup this time. Still only 23 years old, hopefully we'll see Donnarumma, Verratti and their team-mates in four years' time.
