Huawei launched another Windows Phone 8 device named "4Afrika", a customized version of the previous announced Ascend W1 dedicated for the African users. The devices to be on sale in several African countries such as Angola, Egypt, Ivory Coast, Kenya, Morocco, Nigeria and South Africa.Aesthetically, it does not seem to be any difference, even under the body nothing would be unchanged, with the same 1.2GHz Snapdragon dual-core processor, 4" WVGA Display and 4GB of internal memory. The real differences are in software , with a multitude of applications pre-installed exclusively developed by Africans for Africans, according to the different needs of these countries.
Huawei and Microsoft are trying gain share in the African continent starting from the developing countries, this is because according to the latest estimates, only 10% of the population owns a smartphone (perhaps in some of these areas is more important to get the food) and in the future the phenomenon could expand rapidly.
Huawei wants to be present very early to this territory with the release the first device from the 4Afrika series, which is perfect with its very low price, even lower than the Ascend W1 price tag in Europe.
